For years, the Molokai Farmers Market was a Saturday morning tradition in Kaunakakai — a gathering place where farmers, food vendors, and artisans came together to share their harvests, crafts, and aloha. Every weekend, the lot at Molokai Center came alive with music, laughter, and the scent of local food filling the air.
But when COVID-19 hit, everything changed.
Like many community markets across Hawai‘i, the Molokai Farmers Market had to close for public safety. What was once a thriving hub of community connection fell silent. In the years that followed, as smaller markets appeared around the island, vendors noticed that the crowds never quite returned.
